2021 US Olympic Trials Video Roundup Night 8

2021 U.S. OLYMPIC SWIMMING TRIALS

The 2021 US Olympic Trials have come to a close, with Simone Manuel making the team by winning the women’s 50 free (after missing out in the 100 free) and 3-time Olympian Nathan Adrian missing the team overall. It was a week of ups and downs filled with tears, both happy and sad. The Olympic Trials is the most stressful meet you can go to as a swimmer, coach, or swim fan and it battle prepares the USA swimmers to be ready for anything at the Olympic Games. If you ever get the chance to attend, I would highly recommend it, as it is a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else in our sport.

Agree 100%
With only two of the top finishers making the team, that leaves 70,80,100+ others who qualified for the Trials off the team. More losers than winners and the impact can be devastating to most after committing 6-8 hours a day, six (6) days a week for years only to compete and go home to ponder what’s next and whether all that hard work and commitment was worth it.
