2019 French Elite Nationals: Freestyle Scratches Everywhere on Day 2

French Elite National Championships 2019 – 50M

The final of the men’s 1500 on Wednesday free will be short three qualifiers. Joris Bouchaut of Vanves, 5th in prelims on Tuesday morning with 15:29.38, chose not to swim in order to focus on the B final of the 200 free, for which he qualified Wednesday morning. Mathis Castera of Dauphins Toulouse, 7th in prelims yesterday with 15:32.39, pulled out of the final, as did Logan Fontaine of Vikings de Rouen, 11th in prelims with 15:39.27. Fontaine qualified for the A final of the 200 free this morning and will skip the mile to concentrate on the 200.

In the 200 free, Olympic Nice Natation’s Tom Paco Pedroni, who placed 10th in prelims with 1:50.35, scratched the final. Matthias Marsan of Dauphins Toulouse, 14th in heats with 1:50.86, also ceded his place, leaving room for Mulhouse’s Antoine Marc (17th with 1:51.24) and Clamart’s Noyan Taylan (18th with 1:51.60) to move into lanes 7 and 8 of the B final.

Adrien Musart of Amiens scratched the B final of the 100 back after going 56.63 in heats for a 13th-place finish. That allowed Driss Lahrichi of Canet 66 Natation and Antoine Herlem of Dauphins Toulouse to avoid a swim-off for lane 8 – they both went 56.82 to tie for 16th place in prelims.

There were no scratches in any of the women’s events.
