How Everyone Did

Stanford was correctly picked to win the 800 free relay by 83% of entries. No one picked 4th place Tennessee anywhere in their top 4.

Stanford were 200 free relay underdogs in the pick’em entries. Only 8% of entries correctly picked them to win. 88% picked 2nd place Cal.

While nearly everyone correctly picked Katie Ledecky to win the 500 free, the event was more surprising after that. Mallory Comerford, who missed the top 16, was picked 2nd in 68% of entries. The next five most popular picks, Rose Bi, Joanna Evans, Courtney Harnish, Lauren Pitzer, and Leah Stevens all also missed the A final. Only one person had 4th place Jen Marrkand anywhere in their top four (well done SHUStark). Similarly, only one person had 3rd place Kirsten Jacobsen in their top 4 (good call Justin Wright).

The 200 IM was the most divisive event for entrants. 32% had winner Ella Eastin and 57% had runner up Kathleen Baker. The biggest surprise to our readers was Bethany Galat who only 4% had in their top 4 (though all of those 4% correctly had her 4th).

The consensus top 4 in the 50 free ended up as the actual top 4. Simone Manuel was the favorite of of 88%. The main hiccup was Abbey Weitzeil, the main pick for 2nd dropping to 4th.

79% correctly picked Stanford to win the 400 medley relay. However, only 1% had Louisville in 4th.

I did better than I thought I would. Especially since I guessed the 50 perfectly.
