After tying Katie Ledecky for the win in 1:40.36 at the 2017 NCAA Championships, Louisville’s Mallory Comerford will stand alone atop the podium after becoming the second woman ever to break 1:40 in the 200 freestyle.
Comerford split 23.90/25.52/25.13/25.25 for her final time of 1:39.80. Her swim is the #2 performance of all time behind Franklin, and she moves into sole possession of the title of “#2 performer of all time.”
Michigan’s Siobhan Haughey took second in 1:40.69 (23.84/25.71.25.76/25.38), making her the #6 performer of all-time and giving her the 9th-fastest performance of all-time. Stanford’s Simone Manuel was third in 1:41.48 (23.88/25.72/25.62/26.26).
