USA Diving announced today that the 2018 USA Diving Senior National Championships will be held on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, May 13-20. The meet will be held at the new Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.

“We are constantly looking to elevate the sport of diving in the U.S. and having our national championships at SMU holds true to that effort,” said USA Diving CEO Lee Johnson. “Having the best divers in the country at a brand-new facility is the perfect combination for a marquee event.”

The meet will also serve as the selection event for the 2018 FINA World Cup, the top international competition of the 2018 season. The World Cup will be held June 5-10 in Wuhan, China.

“The national championships will offer a great opportunity for America’s top divers to compete not only for national titles, but for spots on the World Cup team,” said USA Diving High Performance Director Kevin Ankrom. “This meet will bring out the best in our divers and will ultimately produce a team that will be ready for Wuhan.”

The 2018 USA Diving Senior National Championships – National Qualifier will be held May 10-11, also at SMU, to give divers not already qualified for the meet an opportunity to earn their spot into the competition.

Divers will be vying for 12 national titles, with titles to be awarded in individual 1-meter, 3-meter and 10-meter and synchronized 3-meter and 10-meter for both men and women. Mixed synchronized 3-meter and 10-meter titles will also be awarded.

The schedule for the National Qualifier and the 2018 USA Diving Senior National Championships can be found here.
