2016 U.S. Olympic Trials: Day 4 Prelims Preview

2016 U.S. OLYMPIC TEAM TRIALS

This morning’s session will be the shortest prelims session of the meet, with only two men’s events and one women’s event. On the dock for this morning are the men’s 100 free, the women’s 200 fly, and the men’s 200 breast.

In the men’s 100 free prelims, we will see three-time Olympic gold medalist Nathan Adrianthe sixth-fastest man in the world this year, lead the charge against NCAA short course shining star Caeleb Dressel, the fastest man to ever swim the short course yards version of the event. Also in the field will be 35-year-old Sydney Olympic gold medalist in the 50 free Anthony Ervinnewly-qualified Ryan LochteNYAC’s sprinter Josh Schneiderand age group wonder Maxime Rooney

2012 Olympic fifth-place finisher Cammile Adams will headline the women’s 200 fly. She will try to hold-off first-time Olympic hopefuls Katie McLaughlin and Hali FlickingerAlso in the mix will be 16-year-old Cassidy Bayer and 100 fly champion Kelsi Worrell.

We’ll see 100 breast champion and new American record holder Kevin Cordes in the men’s 200 breast, where he will fight off new 2016 Olympian Cody Miller, along with Josh Prenot and Nic Fink. Also keep an eye on Reece Whitleythe Penn Charter 16-year-old who will be swimming his best event.

Its ironic that the 50 is the event where anyone can win but here at trials its obvious that its locked by Adrian and Dressel

Pretty sure that’s what Adrian thought (about his position) at the last OTs.
