The Texas boys are hungry. Watching Cal get presented the trophy in their home pool got to them. They were on a mission from day 1. Happy to see them swim fast

One other comment, I may be wrong about some of my picks obviously, but in one of the NCAA previews (Swimming World) they picked Cal to win specifically because they didn’t feel Texas’ relays were up to par. Texas are 2 for 2 (albeit with a DQ to help them out) and I can at least see them winning both today, whether they win or not they are definitely in the mix. One of the great things about Eddie is he gets his guys ready for NCAAs (same can be said of Durden). They tend to greatly outperform their pre-meet expectations even if an individual or two are off (Conger last year for example.) Always a fan of that.

I will also play:

Texas 1:22.3
Licon 335.5 (Strange how we have dropped Kalisz so quickly but his 200 IM was at his SEC speed, which would mean a 336-338. Given how his 200 IM looked, just think Licon will do something special.)
Conger 44.2
Quintero 131.6
Cordes 50.4 (not as fast as last year but he will still show some flash)
Murphy 44.0 (AR)
Texas (if they swim Conger, not sure what his off relay will be) 609.2

I’ll play…

California 1:21.9
Licon 3:36
Schooling 44.3
Quintero 1:31.7
Katis 50.6
Murphy 44.2
Texas 6:09

Katis will be fast he out split him on the relay but SC breast it’s hard to bet against Cordes even on a bad day.

Sooo Texas had a pretty good day.

Just based off this, you’d assume they’re almost a lock to win now, no?
