Click here to enter the 2013 FINIS Men’s NCAA Pick ‘Em Contest.
(This contest has special significance, as it will also determine the winner of the women’s contest – between Bueller and DWY, who tied atop those standings)
Prizes (what you all want to know):
We’re still finalizing prizes for this one, but wanted to get the contest open so you all could enter. They will be good, though.
Scoring
Picking a winner correctly earns you 5 points. Picking a runner-up correctly earns you 3 points. Picking a third-place finisher correctly earns you 2 points. Relays are worth the same points, but double. Picking a swimmer to correctly finish in the top 3 but in the wrong position, earns you a single point.
Sound good? Then get to it!
Tie-Breaker
This time, we’re going to make sure that there’s a tie-breaker in place. Here they go, in order:
1) Whoever scores the most points on the 200 IM (because it’s my favorite event)
2) Whoever scores the most points in the 200 Free (because it could be the wildest and most variable finish, and therefore most likely to decide a tie-breaker)
3) Whoever scores the most points in the 200 Medley Relay (just because)
4) Whoever scores the most points on the meet’s final day (because “clutch”)
5) Whoever scores the most points on Friday of the meet
6) Whoever has the most Twitter followers.

Have the final standings been posted yet?
Did u post all of the entries you have recieved?
What is the wildcard option for and what happens when you use it?
Tonyz123 – the drop downs only have the top 16 seeds in them. “wildcard” applies to everyone seeded lower than that, so if you think Martin Grodzki will win the mile, for example, put Wilcard.
Martin Grodzki! Only the US Open Record holder. He’s hiding back at 18th, and I can’t pick him to win. BOO.
Sure you can. Choose “Wildcard”.
Did you get my entry? I hit submit a bunch of times but am not sure if it went through
I can’t beleive you did not even include Grodzki (defending champion) or Gemmel (5th last year) of Ga among the picks in the 1650; I went with wildcard to win (so assume that includes them), but they are seeded on the psych sheet to be swimming together in the third from last heat – and I think that will be the heat to watch this year as they have the potential to push each other to some very fast times.
Wahooswimfan – we simply took the top 16 seeds from each race, and then gave the Wildcard option. We didn’t want to start picking through the psych sheets and saying who we thought might/might not jump up, because then the complaints about who wasn’t included, who wasn’t “getting love,” etc. would grow and grow. Instead, we decided we would just put the top 16 in every race, and then give the Wildcard option. Plus, that rewards people for picking guys below the 16th seed to win. It’s a little more likely for a 17th-45th seed to place top 3 than if you just had to pick one specific swimmer. If you think that they’ll be top 3, then you should… Read more »
