The morning session on Day Four of the 2019 U.S. Junior National Championships will consist of ten heats of women’s 200 freestyle, twelve heats of men’s 200 freestyle, ten heats of women’s 200 breaststroke, thirteen heats of men’s 200 breaststroke, seventeen heats of women’s 100 backstroke, and sixteen heats of men’s 100 backstroke.
A bevy of girls scratched out of heats of the 200 free. Some, though not all, are preparing for World Junior Championships. Missing from the circle-seeded heats will be number 2 seed Samantha Pearson, Natalie Mannion, Lillie Nordmann, Kaitlynn Sims, Isabel Gormley, Grace Sheble, Noelle Kaufmann, and Faith Hefner. Mannion and Kaufmann also scratched the 100 back, along with number 2 seed Annabel Crush. Anna Keating, the number 1 seed in the 200 breast, pulled out of the event. Crush, Gormley, Keating, Mannion, Nordmann, and Sheble are all headed to Budapest with Team USA.
The boys were more subdued in their scratches on Friday morning. Lleyton Plattel and Calvin David of Pleasanton both pulled out of the 200 free, as did Matthew Fenlon. Sean Faikish, Luke Barr, and Alejandro Flores will not swim in heats of the 100 breast.

A few of the girls mentioned were at just at nationals. This fast of a turn around in meets is not healthy it seems. 5-6 days in between works well I think, maybe even 4 days. But going right from CA to Indy is not long enough. Consider your health kids.
Both meets are at Stanford
